Santo Domingo DR–The outstanding Dominican NBA player, Al Horford, will arrive in the country today for the first time after winning the championship with the Boston Celtics, becoming the first Creole to do so in the most important basketball league in the world.
The athlete will be accompanied by his wife and former beauty queen, Amelia Vega.
Horford will land at Las Americas International Airport around 4:00 p.m. on a private Celtics plane and will bring with him the recently won championship trophy with the Boston Celtics.
It is recalled that last June, Horford and President Luis Abinader had a conversation where the basketball player promised to take the NBA championship trophy to the Dominican Republic, which would mark the first time that the prestigious award would be on Dominican soil.
Horford’s arrival is eagerly awaited by both basketball fans and the general public, who see in him an example of Dominican talent triumphing at an international level.
