The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Ajay Mitchell has reached a new height in his career, securing a spot in the NBA All-Star weekend. The prestigious event, scheduled for February 13-15 in Los Angeles, will showcase the 28 best prospects in the league, with Mitchell set to participate in the NBA Rising Stars Game.

Mitchell, a Liège-born guard, has been a revelation this season. Here are some of his standout stats:

His stellar performance has played a pivotal role in the Thunder’s remarkable start to the season (37 wins, 10 losses), which is their best-ever since inception.

Road to recovery ahead of All-Star Weekend

Unfortunately, Mitchell has recently picked up an injury, suffering abdominal muscle strains that kept him out of the Thunder’s last two matches. But with the All-Star Weekend looming, he’s focusing on recovery and aims to participate in the event.

“Last year, Toumani Camara had been selected for this NBA Rising Stars Game, but he was a bit disappointed not to have been called directly.”

Mitchell follows in Camara’s footsteps

This will be Mitchell’s first All-Star appearance, following in the footsteps of Belgian teammate Toumani Camara, who was selected for the same event last year.
