Three teams joined the ranks of those qualified for the football competition at the Olympic Games scheduled for Paris this summer, after the conclusion of the AFC U-23 Cup yesterday, Friday, in Qatar.

The Asian Championship resulted in the qualification of Japan, which won the title, and runner-up Uzbekistan, in addition to the Iraqi team, which finished third.

There is one seat left to complete the contract for the football competition in the Paris Olympics, which the Indonesian team, fourth in Asia, will compete for with its Guinean counterpart, third in the recent African Cup for under 23 years.

The following are the four groups in the men’s football competition at the Olympic Games:

Group A: France, New Zealand, the United States, the winner between Indonesia and Guinea.

Group Two: Argentina, Morocco, Iraq, Ukraine.

Group Three: Uzbekistan, Spain, Egypt, Dominican Republic.

Group Four: Japan, Paraguay, Mali, Israel.

The winner and runner-up of each group qualify for the quarter-finals.

The Paris Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11, and football competitions will begin on July 24, two days before the opening ceremony of the Games.

It should be noted that Brazil won the title of the last two editions of the Olympic football competition.
