Assier Castle Ushers in New Era with Joy at the Helm, Packed 2026 Events Schedule

New Leadership and a Season of Ambition

Assier Castle is entering a new chapter with the appointment of Diane Joy as its administrator, succeeding Pascale Thibault, who has retired. Joy will oversee not only Assier Castle, but too the castles of Castelnau-Bretenoux, Montal, and Puyguilhem. Joy, a specialist in art history, brings twenty years of professional experience within local authorities to the role.

March Kickoff: Free Access and Guided Tours

The castle will open to the public free of charge on Sunday, March 1st. At 11 a.m., Diane Joy will personally lead a guided tour, with free entry available throughout the afternoon from 2 p.m.

A Diverse Calendar of Events

The 2026 season at Assier Castle promises a diverse range of events:

  • March 6: Theater-dance event Battle royale as part of the Graines de Moutards fortnight.
  • May 30-31: Monument in great shape weekend featuring yoga and capoeira workshops (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.).
  • July & August: A series of workshops including The Art of Portrait, Full headlight on the facade, My little Hercules, and Château recycled (10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.).
  • October 30: Night at the Castle event with Roméo Boccara from the Cie Les Imagités (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.).

Ongoing Workshops and Restoration Projects

Workshops in the Galiot garden, in partnership with the Juin Jardin association, will continue monthly from February to October. Beginning in April, restoration and consolidation work will commence on a castle tower, alongside a window replacement project.
