From Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th September the Under 20 World Wrestling Championshipsone of the most important events of the 2024 season for the international youth calendar. Approximately 700 athletes are expected in the Galician city, divided into 30 weight categories including men, women and free Greco-Roman.
The Italian technical management has called 6 wrestlers for this U20 world championship, all involved in free wrestling: Immacolata Danise (62 kg) feminine e Danny Lubrano (61 kg), Alessandro Nini (65 kg), Daniele Gubbiotti (70 kg), Raul Caso (74 kg), Gabriele Niccolini (86 kg) in the men’s field.
Nini and Niccolini are fresh from the bronze obtained at the last Under 20 European Championships, but Danise (bronze in Rome 2022) and Caso (third in 2022 and 2023) have already managed to get the continental category podium in the bag -good times. The Italian delegation will be completed by technicians Michele Liuzzi, Igor Nencioni and Riccardo Niccolini
