South American Basketball League 2025: Four Argentine Teams to Compete
The 2025 South American Basketball League is all set to tip off on October 3, bringing together 16 teams from eight countries. Four powerhouses from Argentina will be part of the inaugural phase: Oberá Tennis Club, Ferro, Quimsa, and Corrientes Regatas.
Group Draw & Match-ups
Oberá Tennis Club in Group A
Oberá Tennis Club — one of Argentina’s recent National League standouts — will compete in Group A, hosted in Pilar, Paraguay. From October 3 to 5, Oberá will face off against Olimpia Kings (Paraguay), CD Jorge Guzmán (Ecuador), and Baurú (Brazil).

Ferro in Group B
Basketball legend Ferro will participate in Group B, scheduled to take place in Sucre, Bolivia, from October 9 to 11. Ferro will encounter host University Club of Sucre, A Vasco da Gama (Brazil), and Motilones del Norte (Colombia).
Quimsa in Group C
Quimsa, fresh off their 2020 and 2024 Basketball Champions League Américas victories, will compete in Group Cin São Paulo, Brazil, from October 24 to 26. The Santiago-based team will contest with Corinthians (host), Defensor Sporting (Uruguay), and ABC Camp Importadora Alvarado (Ecuador).

Corrientes Regattas in Group D
Corrientes Regattas, another Argentine powerhouse, will feature in Group Din Asunción, Paraguay, from October 27 to 29. They will play against San José (Paraguay, host), Pinheirón (Brazil), and CDC Leonons (Chile).

What’s at Stake?
The 28th edition of the South American League promises prestige and a ticket to the continental elite. In 2024, Nacional of Uruguay emerged victorious.
