The fourth edition of the Badminton Asia Team Championships is scheduled to commence from 13 February in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The hosts will be aiming to successfully defend the men’s title this year. The Badminton Asia Team Championships 2024 will offer qualifications for the 2024 Thomas and Uber Cup, the men’s and women’s team championships, scheduled to be played in Chengdu, China. This year’s Badminton Asia Team Championships will conclude on 19 February.

Participating nations
Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates are the teams that will vie for the titles at the Badminton Asia Team Championships this time.
Indian players in action
The Indian contingent comprises some big names like World Championship medallists HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen, Asian Games men’s doubles champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will be leading the Indian women’s team at this year’s Badminton Asia Team Championships.

Format
The participating nations will take part in the group stage initially. Following the completion of the group-stage fixtures, countries will feature in the knockout games- quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.

Malaysia was the winner of the men’s title in the last edition of the Badminton Asia Team Championships. The women’s title was claimed by Indonesia last time.
