At the “Ultimate 2025” German Championships in Dresden, champions will be awarded in 18 sports. The organizers of the multi-sport event announced this on Wednesday. From July 31 to August 3, eight sports facilities in the capital of Saxony will be the place for decisions, the main sports are athletics, triathlon and gymnastics.
The athletics competition will be held in the newly opened Heinz Steyer Stadium. Mayor Dirk Hilbert said: “Dresden is looking forward to the opening of the Heinz Steyer Stadium this year, because it will create a new heart for Dresden’s sport and at the same time is an architectural eye-catcher for our city.”
Badminton, fistball, flag football, lacrosse, sports acrobatics and rugby sevens will be participating in the finals for the first time. The program also includes Archery, Fencing, Gymnastics, Canoe Spring, Speed Climbing, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Rowing, Stand Up Rowing, Trampoline, Triathlon and 3×3 Basketball. Various decisions are made in Dresden city center and are freely accessible.
ARD and ZDF will provide extensive coverage of the final. ARD Sports Coordinator Axel Balkausky said: “The 2025 Dresden finals deserve a lot of attention because the various German championships represent the entirety of Germany’s top sport. We are happy to offer this comprehensive media platform with our partner ZDF.”
The final will be held for the fifth time in 2024 after the break.
