[서울=뉴스핌] Sports Reporter Jang Hwan-soo = Brothers Heo Woong (KCC) and Heo Hoon (KT), sons of former KCC coach Heo Jae, the unrivaled star of Korean basketball, will be on the court as a team in the professional basketball All-Star Game.
KBL announced the results of the 2024-2025 All-Star Game team composition on the 24th. The All-Star Game coaches, SK coach Jeon Hee-cheol and Hyundai Mobis coach Dong-hyun Cho, took charge of the ‘Qublemong Team’ and ‘Gong-Aji Team’ respectively and formed their own players. ‘Kblemong’ and ‘Gong Aji’ are the most loved by fans among the KBL characters, KBL Friends.
According to the changed selection method from this season, 20 All-Stars were selected through fan and player voting, and four additional players were selected as manager-recommended players, including SK Jamil Warney and Ahn Young-jun, Korea Gas Corporation Kim Nak-hyun, and Hyundai Mobis Sean Long. The two coaches conducted a draft targeting them.
Yoo Ki-sang (LG), Heo Woong, Heo Hoon, Ahn Young-jun, and Warnie were selected as the best five members of the Cblemong team. Byun Jun-hyung (Cheong Kwan-jang), Lee Jeong-hyeon (Sono), Lee Woo-seok (Hyundai Mobis), Choi Jun-yong (KCC), and Long were selected as the best 5 of the Gong-Aji team.
As a result, Heo Woong and Heo Hoon, the star brothers representing the KBL league, will play on the same team for the first time, including the All-Star Game, since their professional debuts in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Excluding the national team game, this is the first time these brothers have played on the same team.
Coach Jeon Hee-cheol selected KT Park Jong-cheon and KCC Coach Shin Myung-ho as coaches for the Kblemong team. Coach Dong-hyeon Cho selected Korea Gas Corporation coach Kim Sang-young and DB coach Lee Gwang-jae as coaches for the Gong-Aji team.
The All-Star Game will be held at Sajik Indoor Stadium in Busan on January 19th next year. Contest participants and All-Star Game events will be announced later.
