When they parted ways with head coach Pero Cameron last week, the New Zealand Basketball Federation followed an interesting path to determine their new head coach.

The New Zealand Basketball Federation published a job posting and announced that they are looking for a new head coach for the national team.

In the advertisement shared in the ‘part-time’ job description, it is written that a coach is looking for a coach to work from October 7, 2024 to September 2028.

In the announcement shared by the New Zealand Basketball Federation, the qualifications required for candidates who want to become a head coach are as follows:

• Have at least assistant coaching experience at the ANBL, NBA or EuroLeague level or have served as a head coach in New Zealand League or international basketball
• Experience working with written and visual media
• Competence in strategic and operational planning
• Strong strategic vision, excellent problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent interpersonal relations, communication skills (strong presentation and report writing skills)

The Federation also stated that the application deadline is 23 August 2024.
