Laughter Yoga: Connect, Heal, Transform – Join the World Laughter Day Celebrations in Peschiera
Mark Your Calendar: World Laughter Day in Peschiera
For the first Sunday of May every year, the Italian Yoga of Laughter Institute spreads joy and unity by celebrating the World Laughter Day. This year, the event will take place at the Parc Hotel Paradiso in Peschiera del Garda on , and everyone is invited to join for free.
“We want to celebrate the yoga of laughter by placing many trainers at the center,” declare the founders of the Institute. “We have created a program full of significant moments to strengthen that sense of community and connection that is the basis of every peace process.”
Laughter as a Universal Language
Founded by Indian doctor Madan Kataria, also known as the “Guru of Laughter,” this global celebration promotes laughter as a universal language and instrument of global brotherhood. The event will culminate in reading Kataria’s letter and a minute of laughter with arms uplifted for world peace.
With adult laughter dwindling to just 15-20 times a day compared to 300-400 times in children, events like these serve as a reminder of the transformative power of laughter in our lives.

Embracing the Joy Oxygen
Scientific research backs the immense benefits of laughter, from reducing stress and lowering cortisol levels to generating endorphins, serotonin, and oxytocin – the “joy cocktail.” So why not embracing this precious gift every day?
“Each of us can decide to laugh without the help of comedy, bringing the body to do it by choice,” declares the Institute. “Just emit the sound of laughter and support it through diaphragmatic breathing for at least ten minutes, and you’ll soon find yourself laughing genuinely and contagiously.”
