The palette of the Simferopol Botanical Garden in the current snowless season, of course, does not impress with the bright, living colors of annual and perennial flora. By the way, its diversity on the territory of 32 hectares of the local Crimean Federal University (seized from the Ukrainian Tauride National University named after Vladimir Vernadsky) is quite extensive. In particular, the Collection Funds contain about 2000 taxa of ornamental tree, shrub and herbaceous species, varieties and forms of plants, including rare, endangered and relict ones.

The botanical garden includes flower beds and flower beds, namely a central flower meadow, a rose garden, a syringarium, an iridarium, a winter garden, as well as buildings from the former estate of Count Mikhail Vorontsov. The university botanical garden was founded in 2003 by decision of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea on the basis of the park-monument of landscape gardening art of local significance “Salgirka”. They started creating it in 1999.

What else, besides the last withered flowers, can be seen these days in the university botanical garden – in this photo report.
