The former Juventus vice-president will start a new role from January: he will manage the Al Shabab transfer market

Pavel Nedved he’s ready to get back in the saddle. Because from January 1st he can become the CEO of Al Shabab, a Saudi club, with particular powers in the transfer phase. It would be a return after a two-year hiatus, from that 28 November 2022 when, together with all the members of the Juventus Board of Directors, he decided to resign from his role also due to the sporting trial that had involved the entire management led by Andrea Agnelli. The FIGC had banned him for eight months, only to be acquitted on 22 May 2023. Having joined Juve’s management in 2010, he became vice-president in 2015, establishing himself as one of the main protagonists of the winning cycle first with Conte, then with Allegri, Sarri and Pirlo.

Nedved and the role in the new club

In recent months various speculations had linked him to the leadership of the Czech federation, as well as a possible role in Hradec Králové, which was never confirmed. Instead at Al Shabab he will find several important players such as Giacomo Bonaventura, Yannick Carrasco, Daniel Podence and Wesley Hoedt. The club is currently in sixth place in the table after thirteen rounds played and a distance of thirteen points from leaders Al Ittihad. The transfer phase is hot, with the next targets already clear: the Slovakian goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and the midfielder Miguel Almiron, both from Newcastle. But the news wouldn’t end here, because there could be another old acquaintance of Italian football on the bench: this is Fatih Terim, former Fiorentina and Milan.
