Centurión Makes Limited Debut for Racing de Córdoba
Veteran Winger Sees Brief Action in First National Match
Ricardo Centurión, the 33-year-old Argentine winger, made his debut for Racing de Córdoba on Sunday, but saw limited action in the team’s 1-0 victory over Estudiantes de Caseros. Centurión entered the match as a substitute in the 40th minute, playing less than ten minutes.
Coach Fornasari Explains Limited Minutes
Racing de Córdoba coach Pablo Fornasari explained the decision to limit Centurión’s playing time, stating the player is still building his fitness.
“With respect to Ricardo, he is undergoing a tune-up that will surely take him a few more days,”
Fornasari said during the post-match press conference.
“He finishes all the training sessions with the group, but he still lacks football rhythm, which he is going to catch on to little by little.”
Fornasari also revealed a pre-planned approach to integrating Centurión into the squad.
“We had talked that we were going to take him very carefully and little by little, so that he feels good and discover your best version, but being physically well. So that’s why the number of minutes he played,”
he added.
Centurión’s Career Overview
Centurión has had a lengthy career in Argentine and international football, having previously played for Racing Club, Genoa, São Paulo, Boca Juniors, and Vélez Sarsfield, among others. He currently plays as a winger for Racing de Córdoba in the Primera B Nacional. Most recently, he played for Oriente Petrolero in Bolivia.
