Local Teams Compete in Weekend Championships
This weekend saw action across several team championships, with local athletes competing in the Caisse d’Epargne trophy, the Pyrenees championship, and various regional leagues.
Young Players Debut in Caisse d’Epargne Trophy
The 15/18 year old girls’ team made their first appearance in the Caisse d’Epargne trophy, facing a team that competed in the elite division last season in Plaisance-du-Touch. Candice Louis, Evia Tselikashvili, and Juliette Juen are playing in the first division for the first time this year, placing them directly in a regional table.
After the two singles matches, the team held a lead, with Evia Tselikashvili achieving a strong performance at 15/2. The doubles match ultimately decided the outcome, unfortunately favoring the local players. Despite the result, it was a valuable introduction to the competition.
Pyrenees Championship Results
Sunday’s competition focused on the Pyrenees championship, featuring the second match for the men’s team 1 (Regional 1B) and the launch of the women’s championship with two teams in the Regional 3 division.
Women’s Team 1 Dominates
Team 1, captained by Martine Carrieu, delivered a flawless performance against their opponents from Castelsarrasin, conceding remarkably few games and winning with a score of 5/0.
Challenges for Women’s Team 2
Team 2 faced a more difficult match, losing to Castelsarrasin with a score of 5/0. However, it’s noted that the opposing players held higher rankings, and the local team performed well.

Men’s Team 1 Secures Victory
Following a setback last week, the men’s team 1 rebounded with a 4/2 victory against Montauban on their home court. Maxence Gauvain, Alexis Brigand, Mathieu Soulié, and Mickaël Martins contributed to the win.
