Golden State Warriors Claw Their Way to Western Conference Semifinals; Set to Face Minnesota Timberwolves

HOUSTON – The Golden State Warriors have booked their spot in the Western Conference Semifinals after a hard-fought 103-89 victory over the Houston Rockets in a thrilling Game 7. This marks the third time in NBA history that the No. 6 and No. 7 seeds will meet in a series, joining the ranks of the 2023 Warriors-Lakers and the 1987 Rockets-Seattle SuperSonics series.

Warriors Trio Shine in Game 7

The Warriors had three 20-point scorers for the first time in franchise history, leading them to the victory. Buddy Hield led the charge with a stunning 33 points, followed by Stephen Curry who knocked down 22 points, including a crucial 13 in the final quarter. Jimmy Butler III was also instrumental, adding 20 points for the Warriors. For the Rockets, Amen Thompson led the way with 24 points.

Rockets Struggle from the Field

The Rockets’ offense struggled throughout the game, shooting a dismal 40.5% from the field. They committed more turnovers (11) than they made 3-pointers (six). Notably, Hield alone sank nine 3-pointers, more than the entire Rockets team. The Warriors, on the other hand, sank 18 3-pointers, compared to just 18 attempts from deep for the Rockets.
