The Seville sprint decided by a photo finish, Tiberi still fourth in the standings

Pavel Bittner won the fifth stage of the Vuelta, 177 kilometers starting from Fuente del Maestre and arriving in Seville. The 21-year-old Czech from DSM in a very tight sprint, decided by a photo finish, got the better of Belgian Wout Van Aert, who thus conquered yet another second place in his career. At the top of the standings there were no significant changes to report with Primoz Roglic still in the red jersey and our Antonio Tiberi still fourth at 38 seconds from the top. Of note in the final, due to a fall, was the withdrawal of Portuguese Rui Costa (Ef). For Bittner these are 3 successes as a professional and they all came in Spain. Garofoli (Astana) ninth at the finish line, the best Italian.

the program

The Spanish race continues on Thursday with the sixth stage, 185 kilometers starting from Jerez de la Frontera and arriving in Yunquera on a third category Gpm, the Alto de las Abejas. The conclusion is on Sunday, September 8 in Madrid with an individual time trial of 24.6 kilometers.
