The new armored Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid was presented in Bologna amidst shootouts and special effects. It comes from the Special Vehicles department of the Swedish company, and has a Vr3/4 protection level, which on a scale from one to eight of “vr – vehicle resistance”, indicates that the car resists attacks with firearms, and in in this case, to obtain Nij-Iiia / Vpam BR2009 ballistic certification, 70% 44 caliber bullets and 30% 9 caliber bullets are used. Motor Journal Michele Crisci, president of Volvo Car Italia: “According to the latest data, 500 people die every day from gunshots and for this reason the demand for vehicles that guarantee greater safety has increased, with an estimated growth for the global car market armored up to 22 billion dollars in 2026”.
