VfB Stuttgart: Bournemouth Eyes čড় 40M for Jamie Leweling
German Side Resists Lucrative Bid
In a surprising turn of events, VfB Stuttgart is said to be holding out against a mega offer from AFC Bournemouth. The English club has reportedly expressed interest in signing Stuttgart’s young striker, Jamie Leweling, with an offer that could reach up to 40 million euros.
According to sources from Sky, Kicker, and Bild, the Cherries have made verbal contact with Leweling’s camp to discuss a potential transfer, eager to strengthen their attack.
Prolific Season Boosts Leweling’s Value
Leweling, who is currently flourishing in the Bundesliga, has had a breakthrough season. The 24-year-old has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 24 games, drawing attention from several European clubs.
Initially joining Stuttgart on loan in 2023 from 1. FC Union Berlin for a paltry 200,000 euros, Leweling impressed so much that the club activated his purchase option a year later for 5 million euros. If Bournemouth’s reported offer materializes, Stuttgart could stand to gain around 35 million euros in profit.
Semenyo’s Exit Paves the Way
Leweling’s potential signing by Bournemouth could be facilitated by the impending departure of their current star striker, Antoine Semenyo. The Ghanaian international is said to be on the radar of Manchester City, with a release clause of 65 million pounds (around 74 million euros) in his contract.
Bournemouth might use the expected income from Semenyo’s sale to fund an advance on Leweling’s transfer fee. However, the Swabian side is reportedly unwilling to part with their promising young talent, currently valued at 25 million euros.
