Women’s Team Begins Season with a Fight
The JudoKaarst women’s team kicked off their season with a fight against PSV Duisburg on June 30, 2019. Although they lost 4:6, they scored points with several judoka:
- Saskia won at -52kg
- Jana won at -57kg
- Jennifer won at +70kg
“Despite the loss, our women’s team showed great spirit and determination,” said Coach Johnson. “We’re eager to build on this momentum for the rest of the season.”
Young Judoka Shine in Belt Tests and Tournaments
Kyu Tests: Success Despite the Heat

In June 2019, 15 young judoka from U10/U13 Successfully passed their yearly belt test, receiving new belts despite the hot weather.
We congratulate everyone on their new belts and are happy to see more colors on the mat!
Pentathlon 2019: A Medal Haul!
At the Pentathlon 2019, JudoKaarst judoka took home 10 medals in total:
- Bronze: Alexander
- Silver: Julian, Daniel, Jana, Rike, Jens, Philipp, Hanife
- Gold: Kay and Laurez
“This was a fantastic performance by our judoka,” said Coach Billings. “They’ve worked hard and it paid off with some great results.”
Judo-Safari 2019: Certificates and Patches Await!

Judoka received certificates, stickers, and patches for their participation in the Judo-Safari 2019. Some young judoka earned their yellow kangaroo and red fox patches:
- Miray, Marie, Sophia, Bent, and Emil earned the yellow kangaroo
Ju-Kai League: A Narrow Defeat
On June 3, 2019, the combined Judo-Club Nievenheim/Budo Sport Kaarst team fought bravely in the Ju-Kai League but lost 2:5 against the Langenfeld judo club. Although disappointed, the team remains determined to learn from this defeat ahead of the final on July 7.
