Usman Qadir has not been around the national team for a long time. Chances of getting opportunities in the future are slim. This time Usman has decided to keep the jersey of the national team. This leg spinner has announced his retirement from international cricket. Usman announced his retirement decision on social media X.
In a statement on Thursday (October 3), Usman said, ‘Today I am announcing my retirement from Pakistan cricket. I want to express my sincere gratitude for this incredible journey. It is a huge honor to represent my country and I am grateful for the support of my coaches and teammates who have been with me every step of the way.’
‘As I embark on this new chapter, I will carry on my father’s legacy. I will always remember my love for cricket and the lessons he taught me. The spirit of Pakistan cricket and all the memories created together will remain indelible in my memory.’- Usman added.
Usman made his international cricket debut in Rawalpindi in November 2020 with a T20 against Zimbabwe. Usman played the last match for the national team in September 2022. He has played 23 matches in the national team jersey. Took 31 wickets.
The only ODI he played was in April 2021, against South Africa at Centurion, where he took one wicket for 48 runs in 9 overs. Apart from the national team, Usman has also been seen playing in Big Bash, BPL, CPL at various times.
