The Peruvian flag flew high in Suriname, thanks to the two gold medals that Inés Castillo won at the XV Suriname International 2024, a badminton tournament held in that country.
The member of the Athlete Support Program (PAD) of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) won her first gold medal in men’s singles, after defeating the Mexican Sabrina Solís in the final by 21-15 and 21-16.
The second gold for the Olympics in Paris 2024 was in women’s doubles, in a pair with Namie Miyahira, also a member of the IPD PAD. Our compatriots defeated Chequeda De Boulet and Priyanna Ramdhani (Trinidad and Tobago) in the decisive duel by 21-16 and 21-12.
