Corey Comperatore was killed last July during the first assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. For the widow of this former volunteer firefighter, the tragedy could have been avoided. Four months later, Mrs. Helen Comperatore believes that her husband’s death could have been avoided.

“I’m angry,” she proclaims. For her, “A lot of mistakes were made that day and they shouldn’t have happened,” she says.

Aged 50, Corey Comperatore was shot and killed on July 13 during a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania, when the Republican candidate was targeted. He had been injured in the ear. Two other members of the public were hit. The woman says she is still marked by the event, even though she was alongside her husband with one of their daughters at the time of the shooting.

At the end of September, elected representatives of the American Congress accused the Secret Service, responsible for the security of high-ranking personalities, of failures which then led to an assassination attempt against the ex-president. The latter was the subject of a second assassination attempt in Florida in September.
