UNE Yoga Studio Brings Holistic Wellness to Gijón
Wellness is increasingly understood as more than just exercise, but as a practice of pausing, breathing, and reconnecting. UNE Yoga Studio was born, a new space in the center of Gijón that proposes a broader seem at movement, combining different disciplines in an environment that prioritizes experience.
Beyond Traditional Yoga: A Hybrid Approach
Located a few steps from San Lorenzo beach, the studio introduces a hybrid concept to the city that mixes yoga, barre and somatic training, moving away from the classic gym or conventional studio model. The proposal doesn’t revolve only around physical practice, but rather creating a space where the body and mind find a slower pace.
Classes like Leisurely Vinyasa
, Flow Vinyasa
and Yin Yoga
are combined with more contemporary disciplines such as barre, a dance-inspired workout that works on strength, control and endurance from a more conscious perspective.

Adding to this is Organics®
, a lesser-known practice that introduces a somatic approach to movement, using spring systems to work on coordination, posture, and muscle tone. The result is an experience that moves away from performance and closer to bodily listening.
Compact groups reinforce this idea, allowing each session to be adapted to the moment and level of each person, without falling into standardized dynamics.
Connecting with the Gijón Community
UNE Yoga seeks to integrate into the cultural life of Gijón, organizing workshops and meetings that combine well-being with other disciplines such as psychology, dance or breathwork, as well as sessions in emblematic spaces during the summer months.
This opening turns the space into something more than a studio: a meeting point where movement relates to the city and those who live in it. The studio also offers holistic massages, completing a proposal aimed at comprehensive care.
A Lifestyle Shift: From Barcelona to Gijón
The project is led by Lucía García and Nacho Dopico, who developed their professional lives in Barcelona for over two decades. It was there that yoga entered their lives, first as a personal tool and then as a professional path.
In Lucía’s case, the practice emerged as a way to manage the stress of her work environment. Over time, that require became a vocation, beginning her training as an instructor and expanding her learning with different currents and teachers.
The UNE Yoga project was born precisely from that journey and the decision to rethink their lifestyle. Both left their previous trajectories behind to build a space aligned with their own way of understanding well-being.

A New Rhythm for Everyday Life
The opening of UNE Yoga reflects a growing trend in cities: the search for spaces to disconnect without leaving the urban environment. Instead of large installations or massive proposals, the focus shifts to more intimate experiences, where time and attention regain value.
At a time when the daily pace tends to accelerate, proposals like this put a simple but necessary idea on the table: stopping can also be a way to move forward.
