Wilson Sets the Bar High

While such brash confidence may raise eyebrows, Wilson’s claim isn’t entirely unfounded, as the Tar Heels have assembled a talented and experienced roster this offseason.

UNC’s Impressive Roster Additions

• Transfer Henri Veesaar (Arizona) and local product Jarin Stevenson provide height and experience in the post.
• Five-star freshman power forward Caleb Wilson and 7-footer Ivan Matlekovic add depth and talent to the frontcourt.
• Starting point guard Kyan Evans and wing Luka Bogavac join the team, improving the Tar Heels’ depth and skill at key positions.
• Portal additions Jonathan Powell (West Virginia) and Jaydon Young (Virginia Tech) add more experience, while big man Zayden High returns after a season away.

Challenging Schedule Awaits

The Tar Heels will have plenty of opportunities to back up Wilson’s claim, with a non-conference schedule that includes games against Kansas, Michigan State, Kentucky, Georgetown, and Ohio State.

UNC will open its preseason slate against BYU on October 24 and begin regular season play against Central Arkansas on November 3.
