UNA Women’s Golf Set to Compete at Lipscomb’s Nashville Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 22, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women’s golf team is gearing up for its penultimate tournament before the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, traveling to Nashville, Tennessee, to participate in the Lipscomb-hosted Nashville Invitational.

Tournament Details

The Nashville Invitational will be held at Hermitage Golf Course, specifically the General’s Retreat course. The tournament format consists of 36 holes on Monday, March 23, beginning at 8 a.m., followed by a final 18 holes on Tuesday, March 24, also starting at 8 a.m.

The Field

The tournament field is diverse, featuring teams from multiple states. Alongside ASUN representatives Lipscomb, Bellarmine, and Austin Peay, the field includes Memphis, Ball State, Belmont, Tennessee State, Dayton, Loyola Chicago, Northern Illinois, Delaware, UTRGV, Longwood, Seattle U, and Eastern Washington. UNA is the only team representing the state of Alabama.

Course Preview

Hermitage Golf Course’s General’s Retreat, designed by Gary Roger Baird in 1986, is a highly-regarded course along the Cumberland River. It previously hosted the LPGA Sara Lee Classic from 1988 to 1999 and has been recognized as the “Best Golf Course in Nashville.”

Looking Back

UNA last competed at the Magnolia Collegiate in Mobile, Alabama, finishing 11th. Olivia Whittle led the Lions with a consistent performance, carding rounds of 77-79-78 to finish 18-over. Ava Schwartz recorded a 75 in the final round.

This marks UNA’s second appearance at Hermitage Golf Course. Last season, the Lions finished 8th of 16 teams on the President’s Reserve Track.

History with Lipscomb

This will be the sixth time UNA has participated in a tournament hosted by Lipscomb. The Lions achieved their best finish in a Lipscomb-hosted event with a third-place showing in 2023.

Klauber Returns Home

Kerigan Klauber, a redshirt junior, will be playing close to her hometown of Athens, Tennessee. She recently earned ASUN Co-Golfer of the Week honors on March 5 with a score of 217 at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate.
