Connelly, a first-round draft pick (19th overall) in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, has quickly established himself as a force in junior hockey. His journey began at Tustin High School before he transitioned to the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he exploded onto the scene. In just two seasons, he amassed an impressive 125 points – 55 goals and 70 assists – in 109 games, earning Second All-Star Team honors for the 2023-24 season.

Beyond his collegiate and junior achievements, Connelly has consistently represented the United States at international competitions. He secured a gold medal at the 2025 IIHF U20 World Junior Championships in Ottawa, alongside a silver medal at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Junior Championships. His performances on the international stage highlight his elite skill and poise under pressure.
