Inspirational Draw in Friendly Match

Trabzon, Turkey – A friendly basketball match held between students of Trabzon University and the Down Syndrome Basketball National Team resulted in an inspiring 25-25 draw. This event was part of the university’s Disabled Week activities and served as a testament to the success and prowess of individuals with special needs.

This match was organized to show the success of individuals with special needs. The result was very nice, we had a pleasant time and saw the success of our special children who are second in the world. It was a great opportunity for our students to encounter national team players.

Organizers and Coaches Weigh In

Raziye Erdem, Head of the Special Education Department at Trabzon University, expressed that the match was a success in highlighting the achievements of individuals with special needs. Bülent Ercan, coach of the Down Syndrome Basketball National Team, echoed these sentiments, adding that the university students’ embracing of the team made it an enjoyable and invaluable experience for the players.

Looking Ahead

After the match, Erdem presented certificates of thanks to all athletes, celebrating their efforts and accomplishments. As Disabled Week comes to an end, both the university and the Down Syndrome Basketball National Team look forward to future collaborations and events that promote inclusion and expose increasingly diverse talents in sports.
