Tour de France Women, Stage 6 to Kerbaol. Uphill finish on Saturday

Cedrine Kerbaol won by a wide margin in the sixth stage of the Tour de France women, 159 kilometers from Remiremont to Morteau. The 23-year-old Frenchwoman from Ceratizit won with a 21-second advantage over the first chasing group, which was beaten in a sprint by Dutchwoman Marianne Vos (Visma) over German Liane Lippert (Movistar). The best Italian was Alice Maria Arzuffi, fourteenth. In the general classification, the lead is held by Polish Canyon rider Katarzyna Niewiadoma with a 16” lead over Frenchwoman Kerbaol and a 19” lead over American Faulkner. Dutchwoman Demi Vollering, who lost the lead on Thursday due to a fall, is tenth at 1’19”. The best Italian is Gaia Realini (Lidl-Trek), 14th at 1’44”. Saturday, the seventh and penultimate stage, Champagnole-Le Grand Bornand, 167 kilometres (uphill finish), before the grand finale on Alpe d’Huez on Sunday.
