Terrible Fall In October 2022, Tifany Huot-Marchand suffered a severe fall during a race that nearly left her quadriplegic. This tragic incident marked a turning point in her life, leading to a long and challenging road to recovery.
Hospital Visit On March 13, 2023, Huot-Marchand visited the pediatric service of the Besançon University Hospital. She shared her journey and the benefits of yoga with sick and disabled children during a workshop organized by the association Premier de Cordée.
Yoga Discovery Huot-Marchand discovered the healing power of yoga during her rehabilitation. She found that yoga helped her manage her physical and mental recovery, especially through visualization techniques.
Yoga Benefits “Yoga is something that helped me a lot during my recovery. During my reconstruction phase, I was locked in my body and it was complicated to go beyond the movement. So the imagination of yoga helped me a lot, especially the visualization to project myself moving, seeing my hands …”
Yoga for Others Huot-Marchand now shares her yoga practice with others, especially children. She believes yoga should be taught in schools as an essential part of personal development.
Speed Skating Career Huot-Marchand was a high-level speed skater who competed in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Games. She withdrew from competitive speed skating in the summer of 2023 following her injury.
Rehabilitation After her accident, Huot-Marchand underwent a long and perilous rehabilitation process. She gradually regained the ability to walk and run, finding new resources and strength through yoga.
New Challenges Despite her injury, Huot-Marchand continues to defy medical forecasts. She ran a marathon during the Paris Olympic Games and plans to participate in para-cycling, aiming for the Paralympic Games.
