Deportes Rancagua had a bad result on matchday 17 of the southern group of the Third B. The orange team visited Lota Schwager in Coronel and the final score of 5-1 leaves them 10 points away from qualifying positions.
At the Federico Schwager stadium, the Rancagua team saw how the team from La Lamparita opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. After a corner kick, Gian Franco Catrileo scored with a header for 1-0.
Rancagua did manage to equalise in the 39th minute, thanks to Moisés Inostroza, who managed to find the ball after a poor clearance by the local team.
But before the break, Lota took the lead again. In the 45th minute, after a cross from the left, Johan Munives connected to make it 2-1.
In the second half, the miners increased the lead in the 53rd minute when Leonardo Soto set up Munives, who scored with class to make it 3-1. And, when they could not recover from the third goal, Munive himself scored the 4-1 in the 54th minute.
And finally, in the 75th minute, Ignacio Chandía sealed the rout and made it 5-1 in favor of the Coronel team.
With this loss, Deportes Rancagua mortgages its chances of qualifying for the post-season, because in the second round it has not been able to capture all the good things it did in the first part of the season. The table is headed by Lota with 38 points, followed by Malleco Unido and Naval with 37 and Buenos Aires de Parral with 35. The oranges are there with 27.
The next challenge for the Rancagua team will be at home against Municipal Paillaco.
