The capital of Antioquia is a leader in the culture of volunteerism; For this reason, the District Administration opened registration for the Apasionados por Medellín program, which aims to continue promoting solidarity, networking and collaborative construction.
Since 2004, when the first Municipal Volunteer Council of Colombia was established until the implementation of the Public Volunteer Policy in 2011, the city has made significant progress in promoting citizen participation in projects of this nature.
“Volunteers are citizens who share their time, work and knowledge with the community; They are city watchmen who promote meetings in public spaces and provide warm attention and updated information about the services, programs and opportunities that Medellín offers.
The invitation is to be part of this volunteer network and work together to reaffirm that this is a key driver in the construction of a more just and compassionate society,” said Natalia Londoño, undersecretary of Cultural Citizenship.
To be part of this network, interested parties must register through the following link: subsequently, they will receive a phone call for the interview and orientation, according to the lines of work and interest; and they will be able to join the program’s periodic meetings.

The 2024-2027 Development Plan has included a public policy implementation project aimed at strengthening the program’s lines of work and covers areas as diverse as environmental sustainability, sports, culture and education. Thus, we want to complement volunteer initiatives that seek to positively impact the community and improve the quality of life of Medellin residents.
