Yesterday, the ESPN reporter. Jeff Passan mentioned in a podcast that the Boston Red Sox are interested in acquiring the services of left-handed pitchers Blake Snell and Max Fried.

“Everything is lining up for them right now except their ability to develop starting pitchers at the major league level,” Passan said of the Baseball Bar-B Cast. “Brayan Bello is good. Kutter Crawford is off to an excellent Major League start. But they have no type. “And that’s why they talked to Blake Snell, and that’s why they talked to Max Fried,” he added.

Snell came out of this 2024 campaign as one of the best pitchers in the big tent, despite a rough start with the San Francisco Giants, posting a 3.12 ERA in 20 starts with the Bay team, plus to throw a no-hitter, no-hit game on August 2.

Meanwhile in Fried’s case, he finished the season with a 3.25 ERA, in 29 starts and a total of 174.1 innings pitched with the Atlanta Braves, although he did not finish the regular season due to excessive weight on his left arm.
