La Vega Judo Association Dominates Herman Despradel Brache Invitational Judo Cup

The Judo Association of La Vega showcased their exceptional skills and emerged as the overall champions in the eleventh edition of the Herman Despradel Brache Invitational Judo Cup. The prestigious tournament took place on Saturday at the Fernando Teruel Sports Palace in La Vega.

The La Vega judo team demonstrated their prowess by securing a remarkable total of 536 points, which included an impressive collection of five gold, three silver, and six bronze medals.

A Celebration of Judo Excellence

The tournament, dedicated to the esteemed sensei Heidi Despradel Fonck, brought together delegations from twelve judo associations, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and fierce competition.

San Juan de la Maguana Claims Second Place

The Judo Association of San Juan de la Maguana secured the second position with a commendable accumulation of 422 points. Their achievement was marked by four first-place medals, two second-place medals, and an equal number of third-place medals.

National District Judo Association Takes Third Place

The team from the National District Judo Association finished in third place with a total of 310 points. The representatives from the National District showcased their skills by winning three gold medals and one silver medal.

Barahona Judo Association Claims Fourth Place

The Barahona judo association secured the fourth position with 221 points. Their remarkable performance included two gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal.

San Pedro de Macorís and Monte Plata Shine

San Pedro de Macorís finished in fifth place with 211 points, showcasing their talent with two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal. Monte Plata claimed the sixth position with 152 points, earning one gold medal, five silver medals, and two bronze medals. Monsignor Nouel occupied the seventh place with 102 points, securing one gold medal and two bronze medals.

A Celebration of Judo Excellence

The sports event brought together a total of 175 athletes from twelve delegations. The La Vega Judo Association organized the tournament with the endorsement of the Dominican Federation of Judo. The presence of Fedojudo directors added to the grandeur of the event.
