The Fair Play, Fairplay and Social Responsibility Board of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced the first winner of the award for the year, with the winner selected based on ratings in their polls and match delegate reports, ilksesgazetesi.com reported. The award is given to promote, spread and raise awareness of fair play.
“The coach of Sports Club “Goztepe” Stanimir Stoilov was determined to be worthy of the fair play prize for his gentlemanly behavior,” says the official announcement of the TFF. “The Bulgarian coach, who played in his football career in Fenerbahçe and followed Turkish football for many years, continues to set an example with his behavior on and off the field. Stoilov said that the refereeing discussions in Turkish football should end after the match with Galatasaray ” added how it is important that everyone concentrates on the pitch and not on the referees”.
It is this way of behavior that made the people in the Commission award the prize to Stoilov. It is also noted that not only because of the meeting with “Galatasaray”, but always his statements after a match emphasize sportsmanship, BTA reports.

After the match of the 18th round of the Turkish Super League against Galatasaray, due to the gentlemanly statements of our coach Stanimir Stoilov, the Turkish football federation deemed him worthy of the award.We are proud of our coach’s stance and thank him for his contribution to spreading the spirit of the fair game”, says the opinion of the “yellow-reds” from Izmir.
Göztepe, who in the summer of 2024 returned to the elite of Turkish football, currently occupies the 5th position in the ranking with 28 points, 5 from the 3rd-placed Samsun.
