The Binefarense judokas achieved four medals in the Spanish Children’s and Junior Cup that was held this weekend in Tortosa. Sandro Pla and Yesenia Padilla got the silver and Iván Llena and Sara Maull the bronze.
On Saturday, the children’s group started the competition. In the men’s category, Iván Llena -50, after an excellent competition, took second place and won the silver medal. Adrián Rico -55 did a great job qualifying for the second phase, falling in the first round. Ángel Díaz -50 and Pablo Llaquet -60 debuting in the elite category and Hugo Penella -60 did not have the same luck, despite doing a good job, they could not qualify for the second phase.
In women, Sara Maull +63 managed to win the silver medal by performing some excellent fights. For her part, Sara Solano -48, demonstrating her progression this season, achieved a creditable 5th place. In the men’s promotion category, the judokas Mario García -42, Aníbal García -46 and Saúl Díaz -46, performed good performances.
On Sunday, in the men’s category, Sandro Pla -73, starting his weight change, won a bronze medal by performing some magnificent fights. In the women’s category, Yesenia Padilla -52 in her second competition after her injury won the bronze medal again.
