The ’24th Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism National Sports Basketball Tournament’ was held for two days on September 21st and 22nd in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province.
This year, the 50s division was opened as a pilot event, and about 70 teams participated in 7 categories (college, 20s, 30s, 40s, club 3, club 4, and 5). After a preliminary tournament in all categories, the competition progressed to the semifinals and finals, and a repechage match was also held.
The National Sports Basketball Tournament, hosted by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is the nation’s largest city/provincial sports competition held for the purpose of promoting public health, promoting friendship and exchange among local hobbyists, improving quality of life, and realizing a healthy society. As a result, Seoul Metropolitan City, which won in the 20s, 30s, and 40s division, won the competition. The runner-up is Chungcheongbuk-do, and the third place is Gyeonggi-do.
