The Commission of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) is organizing the 10e edition of the annual technical review of reforms, policies, programs and community projects for Burkina Faso, from November 11 to 13, 2024, in Ouagadougou.
With the aim of ensuring the harmonization of practices within the community area, UEMOA has instituted for a decade a periodic evaluation of the state of implementation of its actions called the annual review of reforms, policies and programs. and projects in each member country.
Each year, this exercise is held in two stages. This is the technical review in each country which consists of work between UEMOA technicians and national experts. Then, the political review which is a working session between the president of the UEMOA Commission and the minister in charge of finance, surrounded by his colleagues from the departments most involved in the reforms. This session is followed by the presentation of the conclusions of the technical review to the Prime Minister in order to obtain his instructions and orientations. As for Burkina Faso, its technical review of the year, 10e of its kind, is held from November 11 to 13, 2024, in Ouagadougou.
During these 72 hours, experts from Burkina Faso and the UEMOA Commission will evaluate, under community reforms, 132 texts covering three major areas, namely economic governance (26 texts), the common market (42 texts) and sectoral reforms (64 texts).
