South Africa beat Ireland by a huge margin of 174 runs, relying on Tristan Stubbs’ first century in international cricket. With this victory, South Africa won the three-match series 2-0 with one match in hand.

Stubbs scored a fifty in the first ODI. He played an unbeaten innings of 112 off 81 balls in the second ODI in Abu Dhabi on Friday. Building on his stormy innings, South Africa batted first and scored 343 for 4. In bowling, Lizard Williams stopped Ireland with 3 wickets. Ireland scored 117 runs for 9 wickets. Graham Hume and Craig Young made the third highest partnership of 52 runs in their ODI history for the tenth wicket. With their determination, Ireland’s run reached 169. South Africa got a big win in that.

South Africa got off to a great start with the bat. In the opening pair, Ryan Rickelton and Temba Bavuma made a pair of 68 runs. Bavuma suffered a rethard heart for 35 runs due to an elbow injury. His partner, Rickelton, was trapped in Room 40. The wicket keeper batsman returned to Sajghar with a return catch from pacer Camper. Raisi Von der Dusen scored 35 runs at three. He was joined by Kyle Verne at four. Verane added 17 more runs to the scoreboard after picking up his fifty. Centurion Stubbs came to the crease in the 24th over. The Marcutt batsman had no problem getting a century despite getting down to five overs in the innings. Stubbs beat the field by hitting 3 sixes with 8 fours. He played an innings of 112 runs off 81 balls at a strike rate of 138.27.

In the end, Wean Mulder settled the team’s demands. He scored 43 runs off 34 balls. South Africa runs close to 350. Craig Young, Camper, and McBrain and Gavin Hoy took 1 wicket each for the Irish with the ball in hand.

In pursuit of the target, their batting was completely haphazard. The two openers returned to the dressing room before the scoreboard reached double figures. From there, campers and tectors try to put up some resistance. But no one could cross the twenty mark. Then the middle order collapsed like a house of cards. Ireland’s major defeat was confirmed there.

Ireland get a pair of 52 runs for the 10th wicket. It reduces the margin of defeat. Hume scored 21 and Young scored 29 runs.

Williams took 3 wickets for 36 runs for the Proteas. Lungi Ngidi and Bridgeon Fortrin got 2 wickets each.

The third ODI will be held at the same ground on October 7. Losing the series will see if Ireland can avoid a whitewash.
