SANT’AMBROGIO – On Sunday 26 October, the quaint town of Sant’Ambrogio came alive with the vibrant energy and excitement of the annual “Strasantambrogio” foot race, an event entirely dedicated to the joy of sports and the spirit of childhood.

95 Young Athletes Kick-Start a Morning of Sport and Enthusiasm

The “Strasantambrogio”, a non-competitive event, gathered as many as 95 young athletes in the town’s central Piazza della Repubblica, right in front of the Town Hall. The sales pitch of the event was simple yet powerful: promoting movement, sociability, and well-being among young people, underlining the positive values of physical activity from childhood.

At exactly 9:45 am, the starting pistol marked the beginning of a morning full of sport, enthusiasm, and healthy competition.

  • First place went to the “Walt Disney” nursery school, demonstrating exceptional involvement.
  • The “Anna Frank” lower secondary school came in at a close second.
  • The “Gianni Rodari” primary school followed in third place.

Each winning school was rewarded with useful vouchers for school supplies, combining sports promotion with educational support.

The event’s success was indeed the fruit of a harmonious collaboration: the municipal council and Mayor Barella provided dedicated support, while the AIB and Civil Protection offered essential assistance. The Red Cross of Villardora was present to ensure the safety of the participants. Above all, the commitment of the teachers played a fundamental role in encouraging the children’s participation.
