A highlight of the season for Austria’s judo elite was the state championships on Saturday, October 12th. This time the championship was held in Feldkirchen (K). Although there were only nine Styrian judoka at the start, we can look forward to two gold medals and one silver medal.
Lisa Tretnjak (-63/SU Noricum Leibnitz) was already declared state champion at lunchtime. Last year she was crowned runner-up -63kg, this year she won the -70kg weight class. She prevailed against Leonie Bayr (Vienna Samurai) and Mathilda Rittsteiger (UJZ Mühlviertel).
Also Marcus Auer (-66/JC Premstätten) can be happy about the state championship title. On the way to the title, the Styrian managed to win against Hozan Arlsan (JC Wimpassing), Abdul-Rahman Idigov (LZ Multikraft Wels) and Julian Wöss (JU DynamicOne). In the final he beat his namesake Pascal Auer (ESV Sanjindo).
Ensured another medal Verena Hiden (SU Noricum Leibnitz) in the class up to 57. Thanks to victories against Hannah Leader (UJZ Mühlviertel), Eva Haller (Fairdrive Leonding) and Julia Sommer (Judo Jennersdorf), her place in the final was guaranteed. Only there did she fail due to Laura Kallinger (Judoring Vienna) and was finally rewarded with the runner-up title. Also in this weight class Paula Filzwieser (Judo team Zeltweg) at the start. After an opening win against Julia Sehr (SV Gallneukirchen), she had to admit defeat to the eventual state champion Laura Kallinger.
Mathias Mass (-100/Union Eichfeld) and Zan Kauraun (+100/Union Eichfeld) took 5th place. Samuel Lamm (-90/SU Noricum Leibnitz) recorded one win and two defeats. Christoph Gangl (-73/Union Kirchbach) and Gernot Grohs (-81/Judoteam Zeltweg) lost in round one.
