ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: FSU Men’s Tennis Leads ACC with Six on All-Academic Team

FSU’s Academic Prowess Shines in Tennis

The Florida State men’s tennis team has once again proven that they are not just powers on the court but also in the classroom. The Seminoles had six student-athletes recognized on the 2025 All-ACC Academic Team, leading the ACC alongside five other schools.

  • Alex Bulte, a senior, concluded his career with All-ACC academic honors and the Southeast Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award.
  • Corey Craig, a freshman, earned 19 singles victories and was ranked No. 1 in the ITA Southeast Regional rankings. He also earned the ITA’s National Most Improved Player Award.
  • Azariah Rusher, a junior, was named to both the All-ACC Academic Team and the CSC Academic All-District Team.
  • Erik Schiessl, a sophomore, earned his first All-ACC Academic Team honor after recording 17 singles victories, including a 7-1 record in conference play.
  • Jan Sebesta, a freshman, earned his first All-ACC Academic Team distinction in his debut season.
  • Youcef Rihane, a senior, earned his second All-ACC Academic Team honor. He and Bulte paired up for 19 doubles victories and were ranked No. 18 nationally. Rihane also received the ITA Southeast Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award.

Eligibility Criteria for All-ACC Academic Team

Student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average throughout their academic career. They must also compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.

FSU Men’s Tennis: A Name to Reckon With

Under Head Coach Dwayne Hultquist, the Florida State men’s tennis team has become a force to be reckoned with. They have reached the NCAA Championships in each of the past four seasons and produced six All-ACC academic selections this year.
