Sinner Pursues Sunshine Double After Miami Open Victory
Dominant Start to Miami Campaign
World No. 2 Jannik Sinner continued his pursuit of the “Sunshine Double” with a commanding 6-3, 6-3 victory over Damir Dzumhur on Saturday at the Miami Open in Miami Gardens, Florida. The win comes on the heels of his recent triumph at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California.
A Return to Competition
Sinner was unable to compete in either Indian Wells or Miami last year, serving a three-month suspension following a settlement related to a doping violation.
Chasing History
If Sinner secures the Miami Open title next weekend, he will become the first male player since Roger Federer in 2017 to win both the Indian Wells and Miami Open tournaments in the same year.
Match Details and Performance
Sinner controlled the match against the No. 76 ranked Dzumhur with precise serving and powerful groundstrokes. He won 14 of 17 points when approaching the net.
“Opening games are never easy. I’m very happy with my performance today, now let’s see what challenge comes next,”

Looking Ahead
Sinner will face Corentin Moutet on Monday.
