Jannik Sinner has eclipsed a notable record previously held by Novak Djokovic, winning consecutive sets and progressing in the Miami Open. The world No. 2 is now focused on securing the ‘Sunshine Double’ following his recent victory in Indian Wells.

Record-Breaking Run

Sinner has surpassed Novak Djokovic, who won 24 sets in a row in 2016 between the second round of Indian Wells and the second round of Monte Carlo.

Sinner’s winning streak began at the Paris-Bercy Masters in November. His next challenge in Miami will be against Alex Michelsen, ranked 40th in the world, who defeated Alejandro Tabilo in the third round.

The Miami Open has already seen some surprising results. Jakub Mensik, the title holder, was eliminated on Monday evening by Frances Tiafoe, ranked 20th in the world and seeded 19th.
