Tragedy struck the NFL headquarters in New York on Monday evening when a 27-year-old man opened fire with an assault rifle, killing four people, including an NFL employee. The shooter then took his own life.

According to shots in Manhattan, a farewell letter from the perpetrator delivered references to a possible motif. The shooter, although never an NFL player, had played football in high school. He had a history of mental illnesses.
