Tragedy struck the NFL headquarters in New York on Monday evening when a 27-year-old man opened fire with an assault rifle, killing four people, including an NFL employee. The shooter then took his own life.
According to shots in Manhattan, a farewell letter from the perpetrator delivered references to a possible motif. CTE is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in athletes with a history of repetitive brain trauma. It is associated with aggressiveness, depression, and dementia. It can only be diagnosed post-mortem.
