Straka and Lowry Share Lead Heading into Final Round
FLOURTOWN, Pa. — Sepp Straka and Shane Lowry are set to headline the final round of the Truist Championship, tied atop the leaderboard after a gripping Saturday at The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course. The pairing couldn’t be more contrasting, with Straka seeking his second PGA Tour win of the season and Lowry aiming to end a three-year winless drought.
Straka: Cool under Pressure
Straka, who won The American Express earlier this year, started the day two strokes behind but stormed up the leaderboard with a bogey-free front nine, including two birdies. The Austrian closed his round with five birdies and a lone bogey, signing for a 4-under 66 to share the lead.
"I’m looking forward to the stress of being in the last group," Straka said, "All you can do is try to focus on what you can control, hit your target, and make a good swing."
Lowry: Knocking on Victory’s Door
Lowry, meanwhile, is desperate to taste victory again, having last won at the 2019 Open Championship. The Irishman fired a 3-under 67, moving into a tie for the lead by matching Straka’s birdie on the downwind 489-yard, par-4 17th.
"I feel like I’ve put myself in a position to win," Lowry said. "I’m going to go out and give my best. If it’s good tomorrow, that will be great."

McIlroy Struggles, History Awaits
Defending champion Rory McIlroy had an uneventful back nine,bogey-free but unspectacular, finishing with a 69. He’ll begin the final round five strokes back, tied with Nick Taylor (67), Sam Burns (67), Sungjae Im (67), and Tony Finau (67).
