First school bell even for the youngest students in the city. Starting today and until Monday, lessons will continue in elementary and middle schools in the city. Today it is the turn of the Petronelli and Beltrani educational clubs, tomorrow it is the turn of the students of the de Amicis club and the Baldassarre school, while on Monday it is the turn of the students of the first comprehensive institute of the city, Rocca Bovio Palumbo D’Annunzio who, for the occasion, inaugurated the school year with a traveling event inspired by the Olympic spirit.
A few hours after the reopening, the Administration handed over the keys to the new gym at the De Amicis institute. The works, the result of a loan of the Miur FESR PON 2014-2020, lasted 5 months (worth 274 thousand euros) and included the adaptation and safety of all systems. Specifically, the extraordinary maintenance was done on the internal walls, the replacement of fixtures and new emergency doors facing the yard, a new air conditioning and ventilation system was created, a new basketball and volleyball court, including new sports flooring based on natural and synthetic rubber with associated supply of new sports equipment and installation of new equipment for basketball and volleyball .
This is the second school gym to be completely redeveloped in a short period of time. As you may remember, at the end of last school year, the Petronelli school was also given back to the school community. Even in that case the works (approximately 226 thousand euros) were carried out in the space under 5 months thanks to a loan of Miur FESR PON 2014-20.
And this morning, Petronelli began the initiatives to celebrate the beginning of the new school year. The Administration participated in the ceremonies organized by the second teaching club and the new director, Marilena De Trizio. During his speech, the mayor, Amedeo Bottaro, recalled the commitment of the organization to apply for financing, on August 19, the construction of a new 250m2 canteen space in the area related to the school building. The planned works amount to 600 thousand euros. Due to the PNRR fund, there are two other schools in the city that have independent rooms for the canteen of students and non-teaching staff. In fact, we would like to remind that the work is ongoing (financed by almost 600 thousand euros) in two other important schools in Trani (Beltrani and Bovio).
