American golfer Scottie Scheffler won the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this Sunday, where Spaniard Jon Rahm was left on the podium, in fifth position.

The American, world number one, earned his seventh victory of the year at Le Golf National de Guyancourt, southwest of Paris, by finishing the fourth round with a cumulative score of 265 strokes (19 under par).

Britain’s Tommy Fleetwood won silver with a total of 266 strokes (18 under par) and Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama took bronze with a total of 267 strokes (17 under par), in a close final round .

For the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Camilo Villegas and Nicolás Echavarría will represent Colombia in golf in the men’s branch. After 72 holes and four days of competition at the Albatross Course at Le Golf National, Nicolás, in 35th place, and Camilo, in 57th.

With 74, 69, 71 and 68 shots, Echavarría ended his participation with a total of 282 strokes, two under par (-2). The Finnish Tapio Pulkkanen, the Mexican Abraham Ancer, the Austrian Sepp Straka and the New Zealander Ryan Fox shared their final positions.

For his part, Camilo Villegas, with rounds of 76, 74, 72 and 71, 293 shots, nine over par (+9), closed his participation in his first Olympic Games.
