Wife Arrested in Death of Italian Entrepreneur Francesco Vitolo

Sant’Egidio del Monte Albino, Italy – Raffaella Cirillo, 54, has been arrested in connection with the death of her husband, 60-year-traditional entrepreneur Francesco Vitolo, in their home on Sunday, March 1st. The arrest follows an hours-long interrogation, according to investigators.

Initial 911 Call and Discovery

Cirillo initially contacted emergency services on Saturday evening, requesting medical assistance for her husband, citing an illness. However, upon arrival, paramedics and police discovered Vitolo deceased, with a wound to his side. Authorities are investigating the possibility that the wound was caused by a bladed weapon.

Investigation and Arrest

The investigation quickly focused on a potential domestic dispute. According to the Carabinieri, he would have attacked her husband by hitting him with a cutting weapon.

Conflicting Initial Findings

Initial medical examiner findings suggested the wound may not have been fatal, leading investigators to consider the possibility that Vitolo died of an underlying health condition – he was known to have heart problems. However, this avenue of investigation has taken a backseat following the arrest.
