Golf Planète So far, what is the assessment of your first season on the DP World Tour?
Ugo Coussaud I’m very happy with my season, there were some good performances but there were situations where I was well placed and I didn’t do it. I thought it was part of the work that came with it. But yes, very happy this is a good start, I need to finish well to reach my goals.
GP What are these goals?
UC The goal is to reach the final in Dubai. But above all it is about doing the best possible every day as I did in the first round in difficult conditions where I fought well. The idea is to try to do the best you can every week.
This allowed me to get into the rhythm of the DP World Tour more quickly
GP Did the fact that you got your card so quickly, thanks to your second place in Qatar in February, get you out?
UC Yes absolutely, the map is almost finished in February so it’s good. It allows me to relax a little and play, in parentheses, without pressure even though there always is. After Qatar, I had a quick opportunity to perform well and I failed to take it. I have the end of the season coming, big and beautiful tournaments, cool to enjoy it in peace.
GP Last season, you made sure you got up early and played a lot of tournaments on the DP World Tour. Do these first experiences count this time?
UC Yes, last season I did some tournaments, I did a lot of cuts. And I see how it is during tournaments. I also realized that it doesn’t have to be so different from the Challenge Tour. It’s good to play them in good conditions, I don’t have much to gain and lose, it’s an observation in a way. This allowed me to get into the rhythm of the DP World Tour faster.
